The Galway Camera Club is the friendly focus for photography in Galway.
Founded over sixty years ago, the Club is an affiliate of the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) and is
currently one of the largest clubs in the country with circa 100 members annually. Membership is drawn from all walks of life and photographic efficiency, from complete beginners to full-time professional photographers.
The aims of the Club are to promote a greater appreciation of the art of photography by,
- Enabling members to improve their photographic skills through the sharing of photographic techniques,
- Through our weekly photographic classes which are free to all members and by
- Participation in competition both within the Club and nationally in competitions organised by the I.P.F.
The Club meet each Thursday evening from 8.00 to 10.00 p.m. in the White Room, Cluain Mhuire (GMIT), Monivea Rd., Galway with a break over the Christmas period. The Photographic classes take place from 7 to 8.00 p.m. each Thursday prior to the general club meeting.
